Biography:
I look at my life as a story made up as a series of chapters. Each chapter is unique. I believe each chapter
has been preparatory for the next chapters in life.
My parents are originally from Winlock and Bellingham Washington. They were married after high school and moved
to California to go to college. We moved back to Washington when I was three years old. I spent the next 9 years
in Seattle. Some of my favorite activities growing up in West Seattle were bike riding, Easter Egg Hunts at
Lincoln Park and exploring tidepools on Alki Beach.
In the summer of 1974, my family moved from West Seattle to Issaquah. Those were the days when Issaquah had the
airport where parachutists landed. They jumped from airplanes above my house. Issaquah Costco is where the airport
used to be. Salmon Days was just a small community festival and Issaquah High School boundaries went from Pine Lake
to Fall City and south to Hobart. I lived in a beautiful 1930's Craftsman style home on 2.5 acres. My best friends
lived near Pine Lake, Tiger Mountain and Hobart. For entertainment we went to Farrells ice cream parlor, Skate King,
Reflections Disco and Bellevue Square.
During the 1980's, I went out of state for college but returned home for a break and met Chuck Bybee. Chuck's family
is from the Silver Lake area of Snohomish County. After Chuck and I were married we lived in Issaquah, Mukilteo, Redmond,
Bellevue, Kirkland and Sammamish. I worked for real estate attorneys, mortgage and property management companies. When I
was working in downtown Seattle, I loved shopping at Nordstoms and visiting Pike Place Market for lunch.
After becoming a mother, my priorities and interests shifted to another passion - education. When my daughter was three
years old we both started school. I earned two specialized degrees in Montessori Education and taught preschool through
third grade for most of my career. I was a master teacher trainer, regional and international educational conference
presenter, education consultant and tutor. I specialized in meeting the needs of highly capable students, English Second
Language students and mentoring student teachers.
My daughter is now in college so I've returned to my real estate roots and I'm loving it. I restarted my career with
Windemere in Bellevue. In January 2005 I moved to Sammamish Realty. At Sammamish Realty I received the 2005 Rookie of the
Year award and January-May 2006 Top Sales Agent award. In November 2006 I was promoted and moved to the downtown
Bellevue office of Realty Executives.
My interests are education, photography, woodworking, gardening and real estate investment.
When I retire I look forward to giving service to my family and doing humanitarian work focusing on education.
